           1867: Patented on iron reinforced cement troughs for horticulture
  •      1878: Patented on reinforced concrete beams.
  •      1873: Patented  for the construction of bridges and footbridges made of iron reinforced cement
  • Was nine brothers.

FRANCOIS COIGNET
FRANCOIS COIGNET

Born: 1814
Died: 1888

  •  Important events in his life

*      1847: built some concrete houses using poured cement that was not reinforced with any iron.
*      1852: was the first builder to use iron reinforced concrete as construction material.
  • Professional achievements
  •  He did a patent in England entitled "Emploi de Beton".
  • In 1853 he built a four floor house at 72 rue Charles Michaels with iron reinforced concrete.

Was an engineer civil.

*        designed channels, bridges and lighthouses
*      Was the first civil engineer self-proclaimed; He is considered as the "father of civil engineering".
